Important Information

  • Students are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions each week. It is a drop-in type service. They are expected in the IMC between 2:30 – 2:40. This gives them plenty of time to go to their locker, gather their items and get to the library.
  • HWC typically runs 3 days a week - Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. If there is an early dismissal day HWC is not run.  If it is a delayed opening HWC typically runs.
  • HWC is announced during Daily Announcements each morning.
  • Attendance is taken each afternoon, however, attendance is voluntary and it is the responsibility of the student to go to HWC. Parents are not called if a child does not attend on any given afternoon. Students are asked to complete a HWC Log listing what homework was completed each afternoon of attendance. The school counselors have access to the students’ logs and monitor the students’ accomplishments. Parents may contact the school counselor for more information about their student’s attendance and/or progress.
  • Students are not released from HWC until 3:30PM. If a child completes his/her homework before 3:30PM they will be provided with an academic activity.
  • If a parent/guardian wishes his/her child to attend HWC but the student’s personal schedule might make it necessary to leave HWC early on a regular basis (eg. religious school or activity) a note needs to be sent into the office allowing the Homework Club Advisor to permit the student to leave early. One note outlining the day/time for the school year is sufficient. If a note is not available the student will be held in HWC until 3:30PM.
  • If a student needs to leave HWC early on a random day, the student should bring a signed note to the HWC Advisor indicating what time the student needs to leave.
  • If it becomes necessary to pick up a student early the parent/guardian should go to the office so the student can be signed out and the HWC advisor can release the student.
